Our Ingredients
Waiheke Herbs use only the best quality ingredients available are used. Herbs are hand-selected, then blended while fresh to retain maximum flavour, colour and medicinal qualities. The following herbs are used in our Herb Spread:

Calendula Image  
Parsley Contains Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, C, D. Rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, manganese and other minerals. Parsley improves immunity, digestion and freshens breath.
Rosemary Adds a Meditteranean flavour to breads and meats. Stimulates digestion and circulation . Volatile oils responsible for the plants aroma and flavour are also natural antibacterials and antioxidants.

Sage Enhances bean, meat and cheese dishes. Sage increases circulation and has anti-bacterial properties.. Volatile oils help improve immunity, resist infection and stimulate digestion.

Thyme Enhances flavour of breads, meats, vegetables cheese and sauces. Contains warming, stimulating, anti-bacterial qualities that help boost immunity, fight infection, soothe sore throats and improve lung health.

Oregano Adds a much loved Mediterranean flavour to pizza, pasta, breads, etc. Oregano has strong healing anti-fungal and anti-bacterial qualities due to beneficial essential oils.

NZ Spinach Has a slightly salty spinach flavour and contains iron, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, and many other trace minerals, Vitamins A, B2, C and chlorophyll - a rich source of magnesium.

Plantain Traditionally used to cleanse the blood and heal wounds. Plantain also contains many important minerals such as copper, silica, cobalt, calcium and Vitamins A, B2 and C.
Dandelion Traditionally young leaves were used to enrich meals and support kidney health. Rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, copper, silicon, magnesium, sodium and Vitamins A, B1, B2 and C.

Nasturtium Delicious in salads, the leaves and flowers have a spicy, pungent flavour. This herb is rich in Vitamin C, magnesium and the flowers are a rich source of antioxidants.

Lavender Used to add a unique and delicate flavour and fragrance to dishes. Lavender contains many medicinal and healing volatile oils. These help boost immunity, fight bacteria and assist digestion.

Calendula Also known as Marigold has a mild healing action. A popular olde-English ingredient in soups, stews and salads. The petals contain benficial antioxidants.
Garlic - We use certified organic Garlic from Kutash Organics in Otago, NZ for our organic blend of Herb Spread.

New Zealand Solar and Wind Dried Sea Salt Harvested at the end of each Summer from the pristine waters of New Zealand. Unrefined, dense with minerals and free from anti-caking agents.
  Apple Cider Vinegar We use Coral Tree's certified organic Apple Cider Vinegar in our Herb Spread which acts as a natural preservative, and also provides many other health benefits.   Olive Oil - We use a blend of extra virgin Olive OIl produced by Rangihoua Estate on Waiheke Island, and imported pure olive oil from Spain. Our organic variety uses only Rangihoua Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
